People that really know me know that I am a avid reader. I live and breathe sometimes books and going to the library is exciting to me. This past Friday before my VA appointment I went to the library. I always just walk through the bookshelves just looking at books, not looking for anything particular. So when I see/feel a book calling me I get it. This day was different. It was a day of me being patient. I had to wait an hour in a half to get my bus and my appointment wasn't until one o'clock but that didn't matter to me I had my music in my ear to entertain me. Now, it's 11:40 am my bus is finally here so, I am thinking to myself what am I going to do until my appointment? Then I remembered that there was a library down the street within walking distance. So I passed where I was scheduled for my appointment and got of the bus in front of the library. To my surprise the library wasn't going to be open until 12 and it was 11:50 so what am I going to do? Across the street was Arden's Garden and a pizza place. I hadn't eaten breakfast so I was a bit hungry but I didn't want pizza so I opt to go to Arden's Garden. The girl there was a student, she was very patient with me because I couldn't decide what I wanted. I had never had a smoothie with Wheatgrass. She gave me a few suggestions but I told her I don't like red apples and I can't do mango. So I decided on a ph Solution smoothie with strawberry & banana blend. She gave me all the benefits of this drink & what got me to try it was the fact that it could help me lose excess weight. The drink was green thick and looked funny to me. After a few sips it wasn't bad at all. I was told to drink it within 15 minutes while it was cold after that it will taste grassy. So off I went headed back to the library. To make this long story short I walked in the library and at the front they always have the newest books up front. On the stand the book The Power of Broke How Empty Pockets, a Tight Budget, and a Hunger for Success can Come Your Greatest Competitive Advantage by Daymond John was calling my name. I couldn't help but grab it because I fell into that category of the title. So now I am hungry for more. I walked to the first bookcase and there was T.D. Jakes' book Destiny. Now I am on a roll. Got both the books and headed out the door. The thing that got me is the book that captured me wasn't the book I started reading. I am early to my appointment so I got 30 minutes to wait. I opened T. D. Jakes book and started reading it. When I say it is a page turner it really is. By time my name was called I was already on page 64. I didn't want to put the book down. After I finished with my appointment, I was reading while waiting on the bus, when I got on the bus & then on the train. I couldn't stop. It was like something had taken over by Saturday at noon I was finished. Turning each page I realized that I have been shaped and formed for my Destiny. I have now a clear understanding of all my trials, life's hardships but battles are still to come. I have given up on so many things that I thought where my dream to realize that they have only been tests. They were not my destiny. They were leading me into my true destiny. It's really is all about God's timing not your own. Don't give up on what you want out of life because the time has past. Age is only a number and with time you develop wisdom that can be gained at any age. Young or Old. Me seeing my true vision, The Power of Broke is confirmation that I am on my journey to fulfilling my Destiny. So don't give up on you. Like Les Brown says There is Greatness in You. Just dig into it. Whatever you are dreaming start, take baby steps don't put it off because you don't have everything you think you need to have. I've discovered I have wasted a lot of time. I have had everything I need to fulfill my dreams & Destiny already inside me. It has been waiting on me to set it FREE. Comments are closed.
